WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

●     Friends of the Fayette County Public Library (FFCPL) is a 501c3 non-profit organization with the mission of supporting the Fayette County Public Library with our hands, our funds, and our advocacy. Additional information can be obtained via our website, ffcpl.org

●     FFCPL will award one $500 scholarship for fall distribution and one $500 scholarship for spring distribution. An award cycle is defined as the time beginning with the submission deadline and ending with award disbursement.

●     This scholarship is open ONLY to members of FFCPL and their dependent children.

●     Private School and Home Education parents/guardians should apply on behalf of any child that is under the age of 10 by including the parent/guardian’s name on the application. These parents/guardians should also involve the student in the GET-TO-KNOW-YOU questions and essay whenever possible.

●     Applications and Essays will be judged and scholarships awarded anonymously by a secret committee. FFCPL board members are not eligible to serve on the judging committee. 

●     Due to the anonymity of the judging process, there are no restrictions preventing the children of library employees, FFCPL board members, etc. from applying for the scholarship.

●     In all possible instances, scholarship funds will be sent directly to the institution listed on the application to be applied on behalf of the student listed.

●     Applications may be submitted in one of three ways:

a.    Drop off at the main desk of the Fayette County Public Library in a sealed envelope marked only “FFCPL Education Scholarship Application”. Do not put your name on the envelope.

b.   As a PDF attachment to an email sent to friends@ffcpl.org with the subject line “FFCPL Education Scholarship Application”.

c.    By mail to: FFCPL

●     An email will be sent to the address listed above confirming receipt of the application. No other status updates will be sent until judging is closed. Email requests for updates will not be answered.

●     Applications are considered for two award cycles only. Two award cycles includes one fall and one spring cycle. Reapplying after two cycles is welcome. All documents and essays must be completed again for consideration.
